The building designed by architect Bohumil Hübsmann, where Bio Svět (The World Cinema) probably started to operate in 1919, forms the corner of the U Pekáren and Dolnoměcholupská streets. As the U Pekáren Residential House it is is still associated with film-making. There are film studios in the neighbourhood and the modern shopping and entertainment centre VIVO! Hostivař.
